A tisket.........a tasket......... I made a pretty basket......

I have been busy making baskets....... the two blue ones are quite large......... they came out bigger than I thought they would.  I really enjoy making these... each one comes out different...  I will be making more of these and having them for sale at the  "Lake Sale" in June....  so between making baskets..... all my sorting and packing....... and sewing...... I will be busy.... or I should be....  


Just had a little snow shower and now the sun is coming out....... looks like a nice Saturday for us.  Still cold temps, but not bad.  
Lots to do today ......... so I better get busy..........

Time to get serious about this sorting stuff....... I am not very good at it.  But I decided the first thing I need to do is gather the stuff that I know will move with me..... you know... the important stuff.....like my "stash"... so that took me a couple days to gather that.....it should fit here...... in this half of the room....... ya right.

ok..... got most of it together....  Now I can start going through other boxes and see what wonderful treasures I find.  Still not sure if I am going to do an estate sale........ or auction....... or sell it piece by piece... I have a lot of furniture that will not make the move. 


BUT........ I am loving my retirement.... my time is my own....... and I can do what I want...... get up early.... take naps....... eat at odd hours.......just about anything goes.
Well, my coffee break is over now...... the boxes are calling me......

(He really does have ears)...... Sitting in bed the other night working on my New Wave Crochet afghan... and I always have help.
Been very cold the last couple days..... last night I picked up hubby at the airport and it was -24 at 11pm... and poor guy came home with a horrible head cold... so he is feeling under the weather.  I made him chicken soup and hot lemonade... he feels a bit better tonight.  Now I hope I don't get it.


The weather man says it will warm up in the next couple days.  Maybe 30 ABOVE !!!
But I would rather have the cold temps than ICE.... I hear them talking on the weather channel about the impending ice storm further south..... YUCK.... Ice is the worst !


My tea is ready so think I will have to cup and hit the recliner for the evening.

January 10........... Day 10 of RETIREMENT

Today is January 10, 2017...... and I am retired !!  I guess I have been loafing the first few days......trying to get into the swing of things. 
Husband went back to work......so this is my first week home......... alone......... to do what I please !


So......... I had plans today to do some sorting and some sewing....... then I woke up and saw this.....
SNOW.........way too much snow !! ........
so I guess snow-blowing is on the schedule for today.

    But the great thing is................ I can take all day to do it..... because I don't have to go anywhere !!

  How is your New Year going so far ??

I will be seriously starting on my "down-sizing" very soon...... but always good to take a couple days to just veg.........and blow snow.

2016..........comes to an end

Today is the last day of 2016............ and really....... where did the year go ?.    I have big plans for 2017.... I have so many projects to get done.... and so much I have to accomplish.. and I will keep you posted with my progress...... that will help me be accountable....I hope.


I have one thing to share with you..... as of yesterday I am officially retired.  Remember when were 18 years old and planning our future ?............. and now all myself and my friends talk about is what we are going to do when we retire, and whether or not we take our Social Security this year or wait a few years.... Wow.... where did the years go.


So.....this year will be planning our future......... and reflecting on the years past........

December 23, 2016................. Merry Christmas !!!

Wishing everyone a VERY Merry Christmas !!  I hope you all have plans with loved ones this holiday.  The weatherman threw in a clinker here........ we are under a blizzard warning for late Christmas Day and into Monday.  I hope travelers will be safe...... so scary to travel in these conditions.  So Please enjoy your Christmas and stay safe !


I have all the necessary supplies to be stormed in...... coffee, tea, bread, milk, frozen pizza, some snacks, fabric and thread and just a "few" projects to work on !!!  oh and dog and cat food. 
I better get to my sewing.  Still have a couple gift projects to finish up on.
